1. Congratulations
STATE CHAMPIONS!!! Champlin Park Jr Gold 16U!
The Champlin Park Rebels continued their domination of the Jr. Gold 16U division by winning the State Championship. They completed their storybook season with a 4-0 shutout in the championship game. The Rebels won their association’s first State Title after entering the tournament undefeated in league play with a record of 23-0-2 and an overall record of 31-2-2.
Congratulation players and coaches for a spectacular season!

Team Sports Technology, the company that hosts our website has been rebranded and is now called “SPORT NGINE”. When you register your child for either a clinic or for the season, all your previous account information is still valid and available. You shouldn’t notice a change except possibly the name on some help screens.

http://www.cpyha.com/page/show/2394). If you have an interest or would like more information about any of these positions, please contact one of the Board Members as soon as possible.
3. Registration
The registration newsletter will be mailed to existing CPYHA members in mid-July. Online registration for the 2009-2010 season will be available Saturday, August 1, 2009. Below are a few items that are new or have changed:
· NEW: CPYHA is
only accepting online registrations for the 2009-2010 season on our website at
www.cpyha.com. There will be no walk-in registration sessions with the exception of the Jr. Gold teams due to the limited time allowed to get the teams formed and submitted. The dates for Jr Gold registration will be announced at a later date.
· CHANGED: Volunteer Hours are increasing to 12 hours/player for the upcoming season: 5 in concessions, 7 on committees or other approved activities. The volunteer hours are capped at 40 per family.
· CHANGED: The Sarpino’s card fundraiser will be automatically applied to the invoice at the time of registration. Each family will be charged for two Sarpino’s cards which they can choose to sell for $10 each or keep. The cards will be handed out by the team managers.
· Candy Bar fundraiser pick-up: The date for the candy bar fundraiser pick-up is Thursday, September 10, 2009, times will be announced at a later date.
· Registration fees will remain the same for the 2009 – 2010 season.
The following activities are approved activities for volunteer hours:

· Volunteer on a Committee
· Team Manager
· Assist Team Manager (i.e. S.K.A.T.E., checkbook, tracking volunteer hours)
· Coach/Assistant Coach
· Additional Concession stand Hours
· Mite Jamboree
· Tournament Volunteer (mandatory 2 per team/team tournaments)
· District 10 Tournament
· Other Tournaments
· Run Game Clock
· Penalty Box
· Score Book
4. Calling all Coaches…
The Coaches Selection Committee would like to open up the application process for head coaching candidates for this year’s upcoming 2009-10 season for the following traveling team levels; Squirts, 10U, Peewee, 12U, Bantam, 14U & Jr. Gold. The application that needs to be submitted into the committee can be found on CPYHA’s website under the Documents --> Coaches tab; 2009-10_HeadCoaches_Application.xls. Additionally, each candidate will be asked to fill out and submit with the application, a Background Screening form, which can also be found under the Documents --> Registration tab on the website. Applications need to be turned into the committee no later than July 31, 2009 and can be e-mailed to Michael Fredrick;

5. Traveling Try-out Dates
The Traveling Committee would like to announce the dates of this year’s Traveling Try-outs. The 2009-10 CPYHA Traveling team tryouts will be from Sunday, September 27 through Wednesday, October 7, 2009. The first day of tryouts will be a GOALIES ONLY evaluation session, beginning mid-afternoon into the evening. Skater tryouts will begin on Monday, September 28. 6. Clinics
Registration for Fall Clinics & Open Hockey is now available on our
website on the Clinics page. We’re very excited to partner with Northern Edge Hockey this Fall for a few of our Skills Clinics. This is easily one of the best values in hockey training available, and we’ve worked hard to keep the cost down and make these clinics as affordable as possible for our members.
Details of the clinics available this fall and each clinic’s schedule can be found on our
website on the Clinics page. You
must have an account on the CPYHA website to register your child. If you registered online last year, please use the same username and password. If need help with your username or password, follow the directions on the registration page.
Accepted methods of payment include: credit / debit cards, PayPal, check & cash. For those who wish register by mail, you can complete the form (also found on-line in the clinics area) and send it to:

~~~ CP HS Girls Informational Meeting ~~~
Please join us for an informational meeting regarding the 2009-2010 Champlin Park High School Girls Hockey Program!
* Who: New players & their parents.
* What: Coach Bob Grandner will be available to provide valuable information regarding the CPHS Girls Hockey program. This is a great opportunity for interested players and their parents to hear about the program and ask questions.

~~ 12th Annual CPHS Boys Hockey Golf Tournament ~~
The CPHS Boys Hockey Booster Club is excited about next season and our new coach, Pat Janostin, teacher at Jackson Middle School and a member of our community. Pat coached for CPHS a few years ago and we are excited to have him back. There is excitement in the hockey community!!!
The CPHS Boys Hockey Booster Club is pleased to announce their 12th annual golf tournament on August 28th at Daytona Golf Course. 12:00pm shotgun start. Dinner and awards ceremony to follow. Not a golfer, not a problem join us for dinner and awards ceremony. See the

We are also looking for sponsors, if you have an interest, please see the

The details haven’t been worked out yet, but we will be having the first annual Rebel Garage Sale in the Fall. Look for flyers posted and a message on our website in the near future.

~~~ Father Hennepin Parade ~~~
Thank you to all the skaters and parent volunteers that made the Father Hennepin Days Parade a success. The kids rollerbladed/walked the approximate 1.5 mile route and handed out candy to parade watchers. A special thanks to Kevin Lindell, Marlow Roberts & Derris Amsler for decorating & driving the truck/trailer and Keith Buchholz for lending CPYHA his trailer.

We would like to thank the 5-8 Bar and Grill for being such a staunch supporter of the Champlin Park Youth Hockey Association. Whether you're in baseball, football, lacrosse, soccer or just for a night out, through your travels in Champlin, please patronize the 5-8.
