2011 Mite A
Jonny "Iron Curtain" Woodford
As the season heads down the final stretch the little Rebels experienced a couple of tough losses to Elk River and Centennial. The team has rebounded coming to their home ice with a victory over the Princeton Tigers. Jonny Woodford was stellar between the pipes in his debut as goalie shutting down the Tigers offense, Mom was not too happy about the success and hopes to see big Jonny back up front next game. Delany Johnson sparked the offense scoring not one, not two but 3 goals for the hatrick and her first goals of the season! Tanner Thompson rounded out the scoring notching 5 goals. District 10 governs score board rules but does not affect musical selections - "CB", Dare to be great! Next up St.Cloud in Granite City 2/19/12.
With wins over Blaine, Coon Rapids, and Cambridge the little Rebels may have impacted the unseasonably warm January weather with their hot winning streak... The team was sparked by "Smiley Mus" & Lucas Aberwald making their debut between the pipes. The group continues to develop and win as a team. Please beware of Hockey Mom's in the crowd if you have sleeping children or are consuming hot beverages ;) Keep up the great work team!
As 2011 comes to an end this weekend the little Rebels have 4 wins and 1 loss. The team will Challenge the Champlin Park Varsity Boys team on New Years Day, last year the Mite A Team defeated the Varsity 11-10 with a last minute goal. The little Rebels are coming off a victory against Princeton looking to keep the winning streak alive!
Have a great New Years!
