Message from Gordy Littler, CPYHA President

Members,

I hope your season is going well. I often receive a number of e-mails about spring and summer AAA hockey. I normally do not endorse or forward those on to our membership. In part, because I have not had direct experience with those programs and just the sheer number of programs that are out on the market today, I could not begin to figure out who's great and who's not.

If you are looking for a spring/summer program, I might suggest you pick up a copy of Let's Play Hockey for this month and next. There is a lot of marketing hype around those programs so be selective. If you can talk to someone who has experience with a AAA program, get as much information as possible. You will start to see a lot of opportunities in the next two issues. Pick one that suites you best and PLEASE make sure it has an outstanding skills development component to it.

With that being said, There is one organization I fully support. That is the Reebok Nationals Program. For the simple fact I have experienced it, it's all about skills development and this is the organization that has been helping us run our Fall Skills clinics the last few years. Their instructors that run our clinic, are some of the vary same instructors that will be coaching. So please take a look at their information.

In closing, We look forward to an outstanding Fall Skills Clinic in 2010. We're excited to have Pat Janostin back with us & working with Northern Edge and "Yuro"! There will not be a better pre-tryout clinic anywhere in the Metro this fall! Look for registration information on our website later this year.

Parent Relief Night
  • 6:30pm-11:45pm
  • Champlin American Legion
  • It’s that time of year again. The very reason most of us even put our kids in hockey…Parent Relief Night! This year we’ll be at the Champlin Legion, and there is no cost for admission. We have half of the main room reserved for the association parents. The social hour begins at 6:30 pm, and we’ll start giving away door prizes at 7:30 pm. We have some cool stuff to give away this year and you must be present to win of course. The band starts at 8:30 pm featuring SnaggleToof! You’ll definitely want to stick around for this portion of the evening as one of the members of the band is an association parent. This is a fantastic opportunity to point and laugh at him! He won’t mind, he’ll think you’re cheering. If you have any questions regarding Parent Relief Night, please feel free to contact Jeanne Christoffer at jeannegdlt@live.com or Craig Walters at craig_walters@relymedia.com We look forward to seeing all of you without sweatshirts and stocking caps.
